Product Selection and Testing

• We prioritize hands‑on testing. When we can’t test immediately, we state limitations and avoid definitive claims.
• We choose products based on relevance to apartment/home lifters, availability, safety record, and reader interest—not based on affiliate payout.
• All products—purchased or provided—undergo the same protocols and scoring.

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

• We do not accept payment for positive coverage or for inclusion in rankings.
• Brands cannot review, edit, or approve our conclusions.
• We disclose any material connection (samples, long‑term loans) on relevant pages.

Evidence and Sourcing

• Quantitative claims are backed by lab measurements or cited research. We link sources when used.
• We prefer primary sources and manufacturer documentation for specs, and we verify dimensions and weights when possible.

Ratings, Updates, and Corrections

• Scores reflect weighted criteria defined in our How We Test page.
• When products change (revisions, parts, pricing), we reassess and update articles with a changelog note.
• If we make an error, we correct it promptly and timestamp the change.

Affiliate Links and Revenue

• Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not influence our testing or recommendations.
• Advertisers and affiliate partners have no control over our content.

Samples, Loans, and Returns

• We accept review units for efficiency but do not guarantee coverage. When feasible, we purchase retail units to spot‑check for differences.
• Long‑term loans are labeled as such. At the end of a test, units may be returned, donated, or retained for ongoing comparisons—never sold for profit by staff.

Safety and Ethical Use

• We follow manufacturer guidelines during testing and avoid abusive procedures that misrepresent normal home use.
• We evaluate pinch‑point exposure, lock reliability, and cradle/stand stability with safety in mind.

Reader Experience and Accessibility

• We write for clarity and brevity, leading with key takeaways and summarized specs.
• We avoid unnecessary jargon and explain mechanisms in plain terms.
